Refund policy

Pro is a credit-metered monthly subscription sold by Paddle as merchant of record. You can cancel renewal at any time. Consumed credits are not cashed out. A payment refund, when issued, returns the workspace to the Free plan.

1. Overview

This policy applies to Dexta Pro on dexta.art. Free accounts are not charged, so there is nothing to refund on Free beyond returning reserved credits when a job fails.

Studio and Agency tiers are not offered for purchase yet and are not covered as paid products.

2. Who charges you

Paddle processes Pro checkout, invoices, taxes, and payouts as merchant of record. Card details are entered on Paddle, not on Dexta.

Refunds of a Pro payment, if approved, are issued by Paddle back to the original payment method. Dexta then applies the matching webhook: the plan returns to Free and the credit balance is capped at the Free starter amount (30 credits).

3. Cancellation is not a refund

Cancel any time from Dexta billing settings → Manage subscription (Paddle customer portal).

Cancellation stops the next renewal. If Paddle reports a remaining paid period, Pro access can continue until that end date. Unused credits are not converted to cash.

When paid access actually ends (period elapsed, expired, or otherwise without Pro access), Dexta sets the plan to Free and reduces the credit balance to no more than 30 credits.

4. Consumed credits

Credits are a usage meter for compute and export work, not a stored-value wallet you can withdraw.

  • Successful generation (25 credits), continue (25 credits), refine (3 credits), or export (1–3 credits depending on format) consumes those credits. Consumed credits are not refunded as money and are not restored because you later cancel or request a payment refund.
  • If a generation or export fails or you cancel it while it is still running, reserved credits are returned to the workspace.
  • Free watermarked exports (1 per month) do not create a Pro charge and have no cash refund.

5. When a payment refund may be issued

Because Paddle is merchant of record, refund decisions follow their checkout and buyer terms as well as this policy. Dexta will generally support a refund of the most recent Pro charge when you were charged in error (duplicate subscription or obvious billing malfunction), Pro never activated after a successful charge, or a request is made promptly after the charge and little or no Pro credit usage occurred in that period—these are reviewed case by case.

We generally will not support a cash refund where the period’s 500 Pro credits were substantially used, exports were delivered, or the request is only that you changed your mind after receiving working output. In those cases, cancel to stop renewal instead.

Chargebacks should be a last resort. Contact us or Paddle first so we can check the invoice. Unexplained chargebacks may lead to suspension.

6. How to request a refund

  1. 1Open Dexta billing settings and use Manage subscription to reach the Paddle customer portal, or email noreply@dexta.art.
  2. 2Include the account email, approximate charge date, and whether you need a payment refund or only cancellation.
  3. 3Wait for Paddle to process any approved refund. Dexta updates plan and credits when the refund webhook arrives.

7. Effect of a refund on the workspace

After a subscription payment is refunded, Dexta marks the subscription refunded, sets the plan to Free, and sets credits to the lesser of your then-current balance and 30. Watermark and Free export caps apply again.

Files already exported to your machine are not clawed back. Re-exporting from Dexta after a refund follows Free rules (watermark and monthly cap) unless you subscribe again.
